SAFETY

Safety is a primary focus at Backyard Safari. We are one of a select few companies that maintains a representative member on the Toy Industry Association’s Safety Standards & Technical Committee and we’re constantly striving to ensure that our products meet the highest levels of Toy Safety.  We are proud of the fact that we have never had a product recall.
Toy Safety commences in the early stages of a products design and development.  We consistently evaluate our material and production supply chains to ensure that only the correct materials are used in the production of our products.  We also employ the services of world class, independent lab testing facilities to comprehensively evaluate all of our products for safety and quality issues prior to their production.  Additionally, we perform random pre-shipment inspections on all of our finished product orders.  All of these practices ensure the safety of products.

 

HISTORY

Summit Products commenced operations in 1995.   The founder of the company, frustrated by his child’s lack of understanding of the value of money, developed a series of products to assist her in better understanding and appreciating the value of a dollar.  This was the foundation of our business and start of the ZillionzTM brand.

Our products were only sold on a direct to customer basis until the year 2000 at which point we initiated a Retail sales strategy and began selling our products to Mass Retailers across the USA.   Today our products are sold in more than 20 countries across of broad spectrum of Mass and Specialty retailers.  ZillionzTM and Backyard SafariTM represent the company’s core brands.  Our goal is to drive continued market share growth by creating and marketing products that encourage children to learn, have a sense of adventure and exploration, and live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Summit has also been the proud recipient of the INC 500 awards in 2003 and the INC 5000 award in 2006 and 2007. Additionally, Summit was named a winner of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Fast Track” award and has been fortunate enough to win this award for six of the 9 years it has been offered, a distinction that only one other company has accomplished. Summit has consistently proven that we will continue to grow as a company through creating safe products that children love to play with.
